This elegant round side table (side table) or guéridon is made in the exquisite Louis XVI style — a language of classicism renowned for its balance, straight lines, and restrained luxury. The body is made of mahogany with a warm, reddish-brown tone and a glossy polish, while the top is a natural white marble slab with grey veins — a cool, elegant, and practical detail.

The round top is surrounded by gilded bronze trim (ormolu) with a delicate twisted laurel motif characteristic of the Louis XVI style. The table is supported by four slender, fluted legs, connected in the middle by a triangular shelf with a decorative turned vase in the center; the legs elegantly curve outwards in a sabre (sabre) finish. The entire construction gives a light, airy, yet stable impression.

Period of manufacture. Made in the classic Louis XVI (Neoclassical) style, established in furniture art in the late 18th century and later extensively and skillfully revived during the historicist period. The proportions and indicate skillful craftsmanship.

Manufacturer and workshop stamp. There is no visible workshop stamp or master’s signature on the tables. The execution — slender fluted legs, precise marble surround, and — points to a good workshop specializing in classical style furniture.
