Rarity and significance Desks of such large size (almost two meters long) and luxurious execution are rare; they have always been symbols of power, high status, and exceptional intellect, intended for decision-makers. This model particularly stands out with massive bronze female busts (espagnolettes) on the upper part of the legs and rich acanthus leaf motifs around the keyholes. The brown leather surface has a delicate, gilded border pattern.
