This elegant porcelain set is specifically designed for serving fish, embodying classic and refined dining culture. The service consists of an impressive large serving platter and 11 dinner plates. Each piece is decorated with detailed, picturesque, and realistic illustrations of freshwater fish (including pike, perch, and trout) in their natural aquatic plant environment. The pure white porcelain is elegantly complemented by a delicate geometric gold border and gilded outer rims, giving the set a luxurious and festive appearance.

Style, Origin, and Manufacture The base of the plates bears the clear mark “VÉRITABLE PORCELAINE, G.C., VIERZON FRANCE”. Vierzon is a historically significant porcelain-producing region in France which, alongside the famous Limoges, provided top-quality wares. The inscription “Véritable Porcelaine” confirms that this is true, high-quality, durable porcelain. This service is a distinct mid-20th-century production (circa 1950s–1970s). During this period, specialized, thematic dinnerware sets where the design (fish and game motifs) accurately indicated the course being served became highly popular in France.

Condition The set is in very good vintage condition. The gilding and the transfer prints remain bright and clear. The overall condition of the items and any minor, age-appropriate signs of use can be clearly seen in the attached photographs.
