A two-tier guéridon in cast bronze and onyx — materials that intensify each other. The upper circular onyx slab with brown and gold veining, a smaller matching onyx shelf below, and between them a pierced rococo bronze frame with acanthus and shell ornament. Heavy, solid, present.

Belle Époque snapshot: Pierre-Auguste Renoir (Pierre-Auguste Renoir) stopped in the middle of the room. He had come to visit in Bordeaux, and his host had not yet appeared. On the corner table stood one thing only — a small ceramic vase with two red poppies. Renoir stayed longer than he had planned. The greenish stone beneath the poppies looked like the background of a painted meadow. He was still thinking about it on the way home.

Bronze casting. Solid cast bronze of high precision — pierced acanthus and rococo scroll ornament on both upper and lower galleries. Four cabriole legs with foliate knee detail; central vertical column between tiers fully ornamented. Classical pied de biche foot terminals.

Onyx. Green onyx slabs with natural brown and ochre veining — each unique. Upper slab with surface scratches consistent with age and use. Onyx combined with bronze is characteristic of the finest Belle Époque decorative pieces.

This antique bronze side table with onyx tops is a rare survivor of genuine weight and quality. Condition: bronze in good condition with natural patina; upper onyx with surface scratches; lower onyx in good condition; structure stable and heavy. Condition fully reflected in photographs.

Un guéridon à deux niveaux en bronze fondu et onyx — des matériaux qui s’intensifient mutuellement. Le plateau supérieur circulaire en onyx avec des veinures brunes et dorées, une tablette plus petite en onyx assorti en dessous, et entre les deux — un cadre en bronze ajouré à ornements rocaille, feuilles d’acanthe et motifs de coquille. Lourd, stable, présent.

Instantané de la Belle Époque : Pierre-Auguste Renoir (Pierre-Auguste Renoir) s’arrêta au milieu de la pièce. Il était venu en visite à Bordeaux, et son hôte n’était pas encore arrivé. Sur la table d’angle ne reposait qu’une chose — un petit vase en céramique avec deux coquelicots rouges. Renoir resta plus longtemps que prévu. La pierre verdâtre sous les coquelicots ressemblait au fond d’un pré peint. Il y pensait encore sur le chemin du retour.

Fonte en bronze. Bronze massif fondu d’une haute précision — ornement ajouré d’acanthe et volutes rocaille sur les deux galeries. Quatre pieds cabriole avec détail feuillagé au genou ; élément vertical central entre les niveaux entièrement orné. Pieds en pied de biche classiques.

Onyx. Plateaux en onyx vert aux veinures naturelles brun et ocre — chaque pièce unique. Plateau supérieur avec traces d’usage. État : bronze en bon état avec patine naturelle ; plateau supérieur en onyx avec griffures de surface ; plateau inférieur en bon état ; structure stable et lourde.
