The design harmoniously blends classical forms with the nature-inspired aesthetics characteristic of the <i data-path-to-node=\"12\" data-index-in-node=\"299\">Art Nouveau<\/i> period. The piece is adorned with picturesque, detailed white anemone floral motifs on a striking green gradient background. Richly gilded, heavily embossed handles and a finial give the piece a luxurious and aristocratic character.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"13\"><b data-path-to-node=\"13\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Origin and Manufacture<\/b> The base bears the authentic maker&#8217;s mark\u2014the classic brown printed &#8220;U&amp;C&#8221; monogram with &#8220;FRANCE&#8221;, as well as an impressed mold number &#8220;34&#8221;. This hallmark confirms its genuine origin from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries by the renowned <i data-path-to-node=\"13\" data-index-in-node=\"266\">Sarreguemines<\/i> manufacture, which guaranteed the highest standards of dining culture for European aristocracy and the bourgeoisie.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"14\"><b data-path-to-node=\"14\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Condition<\/b> This piece has a significant history and carries an appropriate patina of time. Natural glaze crazing (craquelure), typical of antique ceramics, has developed on the inside and base of the tureen, and there is moderate wear to the gilding on the handles.
