Crafted from vibrant ruby red glass, it stands out with its exceptionally opulent decoration. The neck of the decanter and the elegantly curved, ribbed handle are covered in thick, smooth gilding. The body features a luxurious gold cartouche, meticulously hand-painted with romantic enamel flowers in shades of blue, pink, and white. The design is completed by its original glass stopper with a spiraled gold finial and an elegant, ornately cast brass color base, which gives the piece added stability and an aristocratic posture.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10\"><b data-path-to-node=\"10\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Murano History, Traditions, and Rarity in the Antique World<\/b> The history of Venetian glassblowing is legendary, dating back to the 13th century. To protect the city from fires and, most importantly, to keep their unique glassmaking recipes a strictly guarded secret from the rest of Europe, the Venetian Republic ordered all master glassblowers to relocate to the island of Murano in 1291.
