The silhouette is strictly vertical with a pronounced corniche<\/em> top, straight pilaster<\/em> corner details, and slender cabriole<\/em> legs with bronze sabot<\/em> feet \u2014 a classicist form enriched by the Second Empire<\/strong> with ormolu<\/em> bronze mounts.<\/p>\n
Particularly outstanding is the decorative programme: the upper frieze in thuya<\/em> (thuja burl<\/em>) or amboina<\/em> veneer with a repouss\u00e9<\/em> bronze vine garland application \u2014 a chain of vine leaves and berries that is a typical Louis XVI<\/strong> and Empire<\/strong> guirlande<\/em> motif.
