This imposing, substantial salon gilded easel<\/strong> is executed in a richly decorative neo-rococo<\/strong> manner \u2014 a style that returned to fashionable interiors in the later nineteenth century as a tribute to the light grace of the age of Louis XV. The whole frame is covered in gilding<\/strong>, and the crest, central rail and lower arched stretcher are a lavish example of hand-carved<\/strong> work: rocaille<\/em> scrolls, undulating acanthus foliage, floral cartouches with roses and the asymmetric shells that define the style. Pylon-like fluted leg supports lend the structure a festive, almost architectural monumentality.<\/p>\n

Its three-legged construction, with an adjustable central support rail, is stable and heavy<\/strong>, holding paintings, mirrors and framed panels of varying sizes with confidence.<\/p>\n

Made in the neo-rococo \/ historicist spirit; precise dating to be confirmed on close inspection. The sequence number in the data (3231) is not a dating marker. The piece is stable and sound; the gilding shows natural wear and patina in places, in keeping with its age and lending an authentic character. A handsome floor display stand for a painting, mirror or exhibition plaque in a drawing room, salon, gallery or wedding venue \u2014 a decorative accent that is itself a work of art.<\/p>\n

Im Geist des Neorokoko \/ Historismus gefertigt; die genaue Datierung ist bei n\u00e4herer Betrachtung zu best\u00e4tigen. Die laufende Nummer in den Daten (3231) ist kein Datierungsmerkmal. Das St\u00fcck ist stabil und ganz; die Vergoldung zeigt stellenweise nat\u00fcrlichen Abrieb und Patina, dem Alter entsprechend und von echtem Charakter. Ein repr\u00e4sentativer Bodenst\u00e4nder f\u00fcr ein Gem\u00e4lde, einen Spiegel oder eine Ausstellungstafel im Salon, in der Galerie oder bei festlichen Anl\u00e4ssen.<\/p>\n

Momentaufnahme der Belle-\u00c9poque-Zeit:<\/em> Katharina Schratt (Katharina Schratt)<\/em> trat aus der Garderobe und hielt im Halblicht des Theaterfoyers inne. An der Wand, auf dem hohen vergoldeten Gestell, stand bereits ihr neuer Theaterzettel \u2014 das Holz warm unter ihrer Hand, die vergoldeten Voluten k\u00fchl und glatt, das Licht aus dem Fenster einfangend. Es roch nach geschnittenen Rosen und Bienenwachs; hinter der T\u00fcr klang leise ein Klavier. Sie folgte der geschnitzten Linie, die sich empor zur schimmernden Krone wand, und empfand jene stille Freude, mit der ein sch\u00f6nes Ding ein sch\u00f6nes Bild tr\u00e4gt.<\/p>\n

Cet imposant et massif chevalet de salon (gilded easel<\/em>) est ex\u00e9cut\u00e9 dans l’esprit richement d\u00e9coratif du n\u00e9o-rococo<\/strong> \u2014 un style revenu dans les int\u00e9rieurs distingu\u00e9s au cours de la seconde moiti\u00e9 du XIX\u1d49 si\u00e8cle en hommage \u00e0 la gr\u00e2ce l\u00e9g\u00e8re de l’\u00e9poque de Louis XV. Tout le b\u00e2ti est recouvert de dorure<\/strong>, et la couronne, la traverse centrale et l’entretoise cintr\u00e9e inf\u00e9rieure constituent un riche exemple de travail sculpt\u00e9<\/em> : volutes rocaille<\/em>, feuillage d’acanthe ondulant, cartouches fleuris de roses et coquilles asym\u00e9triques propres au style. Des supports de pieds en forme de pyl\u00f4nes cannel\u00e9s conf\u00e8rent \u00e0 la structure une monumentalit\u00e9 festive, presque architecturale.<\/p>\n

Sa structure \u00e0 trois pieds, avec support central r\u00e9glable, est stable et lourde<\/strong>, soutenant tableaux, miroirs et panneaux encadr\u00e9s de tailles vari\u00e9es avec assurance.<\/p>\n

R\u00e9alis\u00e9 dans l’esprit du n\u00e9o-rococo \/ historicisme ; la datation pr\u00e9cise reste \u00e0 confirmer apr\u00e8s examen. Le num\u00e9ro d’ordre figurant dans les donn\u00e9es (3231) n’est pas un marqueur de datation. La pi\u00e8ce est stable et enti\u00e8re ; la dorure pr\u00e9sente par endroits une usure naturelle et une patine, conformes \u00e0 son \u00e2ge et porteuses d’un caract\u00e8re authentique. Un pr\u00e9sentoir de sol distingu\u00e9 pour un tableau, un miroir ou une plaque d’exposition, dans un salon, une galerie ou lors d’\u00e9v\u00e9nements.<\/p>\n

Instantan\u00e9 de la Belle \u00c9poque :<\/em> R\u00e9jane (Gabrielle R\u00e9jane)<\/em> sortit de sa loge et s’arr\u00eata dans la p\u00e9nombre du foyer du th\u00e9\u00e2tre. Contre le mur, sur le haut support dor\u00e9, sa nouvelle affiche \u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 en place \u2014 le bois ti\u00e8de sous ses doigts, les volutes dor\u00e9es fra\u00eeches et lisses, captant la lumi\u00e8re de la fen\u00eatre. La pi\u00e8ce sentait la rose coup\u00e9e et la cire ; au-del\u00e0 de la porte, un piano jouait doucement. Elle suivit la ligne sculpt\u00e9e qui montait jusqu’\u00e0 la couronne scintillante, et ressentit cette joie tranquille avec laquelle un bel objet porte une belle image \u2014 dignes l’un de l’autre.<\/p>\n
